Our Team

We have a passion for animals. We care about improving the quality of life of your pets whilst also providing preventive treatments to provide the best care possible. At Piélagos Veterinary Hospital, we have a team of qualified veterinarians and an emergency service available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Veterinarians

Verónica Pérez

Veterinary Director

Verónica has a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza. She was awarded an Erasmus scholarship for an academic year at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow (Scotland, UK).
To complete her training, she carried out several courses in Europe. The last ones she attended were in Jersey (UK). After this, she decided to set up her own company, Hospital Veterinario Piélagos (Quijano de Piélagos), in 1995. It started as a small practice, but today is a veterinary reference centre. Since then, she has continued to train to ensure she provides the best service to her patients.

Javier Ibañez

Veterinary

Javier graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 2011 from the University of León. In 2012 he joined Hospital Veterinario Piélagos.

He started his practice with large animals but finally decided to work in the small animal clinic. He has a special interest in ophthalmology and traumatology.

Mónica Gutiérrez

Veterinary

Mónica has a degree in Veterinary Medicine.

Carmen Castellano

Veterinary

Carmen graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 2014. She did two internships in reference hospitals in Venice and Madrid.

She continued her working career in Spain, being part of the team of Hospital Veterinario Pielagos since May 2019.

Miryam Feito

Veterinary

Miryam graduated in Veterinary Medicine in Madrid. She has been working in Cantabria for 3 years in a small animal clinic (mainly cats and dogs).

What she likes most is surgery and the small animal clinic. Previously she has done voluntary work in Madrid: recovery of wild animals, dog and cat shelters, and cattle sanitation campaigns. She also enjoys ethology, she did a theoretical and practical course in canine education and assistance and guide dogs. Her hobbies include various sports such as gym, snowboarding, surfing, motorbikes…, nature and music, she plays the guitar!

Ana Pedrera

Veterinary Assistant

Ana is a Biologist who specialises in Biodiversity. She has always wanted to work with animals and has loved them since she was a child.
Ana is currently working as a Veterinary Assistant at Piélagos Veterinary Hospital and enjoys learning and working with the team. She is a nature lover. She spends her free time going hiking and discovering new places.

Miguel Sánchez

Veterinary Assistant

Miguel has a degree in Biology from the UCM, and after collaborating in research projects in reference laboratories and the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital, he pursued his goal of working in the animal health sector.

To do so, he trained as a zoo keeper and veterinary assistant, doing practical work experience in zoos and veterinary clinics until he became part of the team at the Piélagos Veterinary Hospital, where he has been working since the beginning of 2021.
